Visite guidee MTF2:

Adapted Tourism

Visits: modalities and organisation

Tourisme et Handicap:
Whatever the disability, that the pace of the visit must be arranged taking into account the time needed to go from workshop to another, the simultaneous explanations of the guide with (depending on the situation) translation into French Sign Language, or the touching of objects. Around 2 hours are required for a quality visit.

The main features of an adapted visit for the visually impaired

The visit of the Museum of Faience Techniques (Musée des Techniques Faïencières) designed for visually impaired customers requires mediation with a guide. This type of visit is intended equally for the blind and the visually impaired, and may be organised for mixed groups where various degrees of disability coexist.
The visits are carried out with small groups with a maximum of twelve people, in order to privilege the quality of the encounter, to favour interactions with the guide and within the group, between visitors, and to guarantee everyone's safety.

The main features of an adapted visit for the hearing impaired:

The visit of the Museum of Faience Techniques designed for hearing impaired customers is based on the mediation of a guide from the Tourist Office working with French Sign Language interpreter.
It is important to concentrate on the essentials, simplifying the vocabulary, because not everything can be translated in a literal sense.
The adapted visit is intended in preference for small groups of no more than 15-20 people in order to preserve the quality of the experien ce and understand the techniques and work conditions.

Adapted services provided to visitors with other types of disability:

The Tourist Office has not worked in particular on motor disabilities, because the facilities of the Museum of Faience Techniques present a level of accessibility which is entirely satisfactory, and consequently the customers who are reduced in their mobility can carry out a commented visit through the Tourist Office in the same way as any other customers, in complete ease without any special arrangements.
